I was taking photos of a Cooper's hawk when a couple of Eurasian collared doves came by. I don't know if they were trying to scare the hawk away or if they just didn't see it.
No, I don't think the hawk attacked the doves, I think it just flew away when it saw them coming. It looks like a very close encounter but I don't believe there was any contact. All three birds flew off with no apparent injuries. I have a couple more photos that show them all flying away after the "near miss" but they're not quite as good so I didn't post them.
I don't understand what I'm looking at, did the hawk attack the doves?
